Heat Cure - 30 Minute Boil - Alto Impacto

PROTECH® HEAT CURE DENTURE ACRYLIC is high impact, cross linked, flexible, acrylic copolymer which contains no plasticizer. Stronger than ordinary acrylic, PROTECH dentures do not lose their shape and do not shrink even after a long period of time. It is available in the most popular gingival shades. PROTECH® is a fine, lifelike denture acrylic that has been thoroughly tested to insure uniform and successful results when the following directions are followed: PROTECH® HEAT CURE DENTURE ACRYLIC is high impact, cross linked, flexible, acrylic copolymer which contains no plasticizer. MEZCLA

ENVASADO
Open press and separate flask. If the case is to be in pink material only, remove all excess material. If however, insufficient material has been used, add material and repeat trial packing as described above. Then take two (2) pieces of PROTECH® DENTURE ACRYLIC approximately ¼² thick and one (1) inch long, and place one on each side of the back part of the flask. Close quickly, thereby insuring sufficient compression.

MIXING FOR CLEAR PALATES
Put three (3 cc.) to four (4 cc.) of liquid (according to size of palate) in a jar. Add powder while tapping jar on bench or use a vibrator until liquid will not take up any more powder. Cover jar for one (1) minute. Pour out powder not taken up by liquid. Cover jar again until putty-like consistency is reached. DO NOT MIX!

PACKING FOR CLEAR PALATES
Packing temperature should be 22° C to 24° C (70.6° F to 72.6° F). Pack a roll of PROTECH®, approximately ½² thick, in well of flask. DO NOT cover palate since it will roll in place when proper consistency is reached. For trial packing, moisten a piece of cellophane and stretch it over the material. Close flask and place in bench press. Press down ½ turn with finger. Wait thirty (30) seconds and make another one-half (½) turn. Repeat this procedure until flask is closed to within one-half (½) mm. Should it become difficult to make ½ turns, wait two (2) to three (3) minutes, instead of thirty (30) seconds, allowing the material to stop flowing.

In order to insure a crystal clear palate, it is important that work proceeds slowly and carefully. Tinfoil must be used on both sides - NO SUBSTITUTES! Flask must be at room temperature. Proceed as for pink cases until the final trial closure of flask. Keep flask under pressure for about ten (10) minutes, until PROTECH® DENTURE ACRYLIC is fairly stiff. Then open flask and proceed to remove pink palate. For this step a pair of small, curved scissors or a thin pointed instrument (preferably heated) should be used. BE SURE NOT TO INJURE TINFOIL!

Now pack the fairly stiff, clear PROTECH® DENTURE ACRYLIC. Close flask slowly in such a way that the front of the flask closes first. Continue trial packing, adding or removing material as necessary. Put flask under pressure until material becomes transparent. Tinfoil case and make final closure.

NOTA
The clarity of PROTECH® DENTURE ACRYLIC will increase with repeated pressing and a longer waiting period before processing. A high degree of clarity is possible only by considerably prolonging the packing period and pressing out the microscopic flaws and bubbles in the grains of powder. It is the presence of bubbles which causes a haze in clear palates.

CURA CON AGUA HIRVIENDO
It is important to use an accurate thermometer and adhere to proper temperatures, as indicated. Ten (10) minutes after proper elasticity has been reached, submerge the material held in a flask clamp in water at 73° C for eight (8) hours; or at 73° C for 1½ hours and then immerse in boiling water for ½ an hour. After the heating schedule has been completed, cool the flask in the clamp at room temperature of 23° C for thirty (30) minutes followed by immersion in water at 23°C for fifteen (15) minutes.

ACABADO Y PULIDO
The denture can be finished with standard carbide burs. For polishing, we recommend pumice and the use of the PROTECH® ACRYLIC POLISHING & HI-SHINE BAR.

NOTA
Should any "whitening" appear on the surface of the acrylic after polymerization, it is indicative that either moisture has entered into the plaster from the stone, (due to insufficient or ineffective separating medium), or under curing, (due to insufficient curing time or water temperature), or the presence of cellulose slime (due to prolonged soaking of trial packing sheets).

This problem can be eliminated by making sure that a sufficient amount of PROTECH® SEPARATING MEDIUM (3 coats are recommended) or other premium quality separator be used on the case, prior to polymerizing, curing at sufficient temperature for the required amount of time, and using fresh packing sheets daily.
